Dallas-based Coquest Inc., one of the largest independent introducing brokers in the U.S. derivatives markets, announced that Mark Shore has joined its Coquest Advisors LLC as Director of Educational Research. Mr. Shore will be responsible for developing educational materials, workshops and webinars as well as aid in client outreach to help investors, wealth advisors and other industry participants learn about managed futures. As a futures industry ambassador, he’ll also work to increase visibility of the Coquest Advisors brand. Mr. Shore is an adjunct professor at DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and has a multi-decade background in research and trading in the derivatives business. Mr. Shore began his career in the futures business with EF Hutton, working on the Chicago Board of Trade bond floor where he witnessed first hand the 1987 stock market crash. He used that experience in his submission paper to the University of Chicago, where he received his MBA with a concentration on Finance, Behavioral Science and Econometrics. He joined Morgan Stanley/VK Capital Inc. in New York in 1997 as senior research analyst, and rose to become chief operating officer and principal for the $300 million internal CTA. In 2007 he joined Octane Research, a $1 billion alternative investment firm, as head of risk. In 2008 he formed his own company that focuses on derivatives research, Shore Capital Research. He also is a doctoral candidate at DePaul University and a Level 1 candidate in the CAIA program. http://www.coquest.com/news/
