I am a fresher in algorithmic trader. Now I want to enhance an algorithmic in Japan stock market by using ppro8. However, I found that there is a drawback to me. Actually, Ppro8 is brokerage system that can trade many markets. It doesn't provide much data. If I want to calculate real-time intraday indicators, the only is to quote the price and store it into my database. Therefore, I got few questions here. 1. I am not using Ppro8. Are there anyone using it? OR most people use interactive brokers? 2. I want to use some indicators into my algorithmic. Will there be any system that can provide it rather than I obtain and collect the real time intraday data by myself.

Where in the world did you find ppro8 ))

Waken up - most traders use MT4 and MT5

(i) simple, friendly, designed for algorithmic

(ii) testing algos on history, zillion indicators and other 'rings & bells'

(iii) used by 300+ brokers and primes all over the world.

Hello Chi! You should try eSignal for charting and back testing with quality data. It allows you to export data (both intraday and EOD) in .csv format. It is a bit pricey but you could download the free trial and see if you like it.

I would seriously consider a platform that is broker independent or program directly against an API of a decent broker. Have a look at for example MultiCharts.

Hi Chi, you may want to take a look at three or so of the popular trading APIs currently available. If your requirements are pretty compact, I suggest writing (or adopting) your own internal API. You can then implement the interface for the various brokers you are interested in. One of the brokers may already have a nice API, and you might just want to adapt everything to that interface.

Do you use broker platform with free data and indicators, if so, you do not get super analysis and buy or stay in the market signals. It costs money every month to receive trade selection and actions to be taken predictions to get 90% profit signals on China, HK or other Asian markets. Tell me if you are interested to get profitable trade depictions.

I am not talking about trading by using it. This is not the direction or aim of what I am seeking for. Actually I am going trade other market rather than warrant.

If you want raw live data, can always buy from exchanges like ICE, but need deep pockets
