Edward M. Dempsey, CFP® I have a simple view of those terms - they don't exist. True, you hear them all the time, but who is to say that the price in the market has gone up ("overbought") or down ("oversold") too far? Prices are driven by real deals, i.e. mostly intelligent people buying and selling, sometimes in large amounts - and usually for good reasons. If I predict that a price is about to rise or fall, that is fair enough, but is also a very different thing. I'm a great believer in the power of the market, and that the current price is the right price.
