We're in Contango last time I checked. In my opinion the oil markets, at least in the past 4-6 months, have been increasing responding to a disruptive technology that appears imminent:

I've studied the physics theory the past 3.5 years and I've convinced myself the theory is sound. The company just released the above plasma videos. They are essentially igniting and sustaining an artificial Sun that shares the same spectrum as Earth's Sun, but at 50,000 the photon intensity. They're generating millions of watts of power inside a 1-cubic foot vacuum chamber. The public demonstration is Jan 28.

It's pretty remarkable to watch the plasma videos. What you're seeing is an artificial sun being ignited and sustained, wherein the optical power output is converted into electricity via next generation concentrated photovoltaic solar cell technology that is capable of 1,000 suns per layer.
