Marco, If your looking for the best charting in the industry I would suggest using CQG. Their execution and customization tops TT. I have been using CQG for years and my experience with the platform and new developments that they come out speak for themselves. If you have any other additional questions feel free to reach out.

This depends on what you want to do, what kind of strategies you want to develop, if you want to develop by programming or by using visual development. Feel free to ping me if you need input.

i'm using Tradestation full time since almost 3 years, developing and Trading live, I'm looking for better alternatives (if they exist for retail) , for backtesting strategies than for execution

target instruments are CME futures,

if from your experience is possible, i'd like to use an high level approach, i mean not to be involved in programming the management of orders (generation, check of status, etc.),

I'm using only market or stop orders, not more complex order structures, like OCO and OSO

I hope to find one platform that is able to generate signals and execute orders in a reliable manner, if exceptions arise (like orders not executed) they should be easily identifiable and manageable

Not sure if it helps... I used CQG with Ninjatrader for futures trading on Globex. It started as simple strategies managed in Ninja, then it evolved into more sophisticated system written in C# (thats what Ninja supports) and orders going through CQG API.

You can use an easy approach as your referring to building out simple strategies using CQG easy language. They make it pretty self explanatory when you look to build a system. It comes with CQG IC. They have a pretty decent training library to walk you through how to use it, and if that doesn't help their product specialist will walk you through what you need to do. The best way to find out if its for you is to look at the systems built within CQG you can find a lot on youtube.

Marco, both are incredible. I have more institutional people on TT, but mainly spread traders. It's really one of the best platforms out there.

CQG is probably as good, but has the added advantage of compatibility with a wide range of platforms. With your CQG feed you can try and see which ones work best with your style (ie. free 30 day demo).

Trade navigator and multicharts are normally the software my clients go for when moving over from trade station. I have a soft spot for Sierra Chart that is super flexible for algo trading, programmed in C++ instead of .NET (more reliable, I just never saw that platform crash) and I believe starts at $27 a month (you can probably get for free from your broker if you're an active trader)...

Of course if you want a broker that knows what he's talking about and can give you low rates with a reputable firm don't hesitate to pm me.

I've been trading professionally for the past 10 years, have had hundreds of clients trading through me, and I built my firm for people like you.

Good luck!
