In order not to confuse the reader and spread wrong information about HFT, I think important to know that High Frequency Trading is an industry term, which is often misused and misunderstood. HFT is defined as to how long time you hold a position, not how often you trade.


The new upcoming EU regulations define HFT as positions held < 500 milliseconds.


HFT is about getting first to the exchange, using proprietary fiber optic cables and/or radio towers, do you use any of those technologies ?
