This article is over simplifying what happened. The issue was around software deployment and legacy code in their order router. They deployed a version that used a field they didn't know would trigger a feature that was deprecated. They didn't just forget to "install one little thing". See the report published by the SEC in Oct 2013.

Docker has nothing to do with this and realistically wouldn't have prevented their glitch whatsoever.

As you said in your blog, you are "bla-bla-bla-ing" about docker ;-)

Point taken. I made an assumption...and probably a big one...that they had it running correctly in a UAT /test environment and it tested correctly. If they just skipped this entirely...then...well I'll happily retract everything because it's a whole 'nuther issue.
