Does Certified Algorithmic Trader.status come with academic recognition?

@Fredrick, thank you for the question! The Algorithmic Traders Association is not an accredited university but a professional body – as such and for the time being, the certification is registered with the association (and verifiable online through its website) as recognition that graduates have successfully attained certification. One of our long term goals is to register with one of the 6 regional accreditation agencies in the U.S., hope this answers your question – feel free to send me a P.M. if you have any other questions.

Thanks. So at some point there would be CECs for example.

Surely you don't need more academic recognition Fredrick?!

Personally, no. But academic recognition has a relationship to the quality of the educational offering. For example, my cat could start a video course in Professional Mouse Catching. If the International Feline Association rated her course as meeting certification criteria it would likely be a good course.

Me neither Fredrick! Pardon my transatlantic ignorance, but what does CEC stand for? The Great God Google suggests possibly "Continuing Education Credit"? If that's what you had in mind, then might a UK/European equivalent look something like this?

Jim, Yes CEC is a Continuing Education Credit. A fair number of learning, healing and other professions require that one continue to accumulate them in order to maintain certification and licensing in the primary profession. They might not even have anything to do with that profession. The thinking is likely an effort to prevent intellectual ossification in folks once they have a stable gig.
