If I need to short constituents of FTSE 100 , how can I do so ? (Multiday Holding) What are the costs associated with shorting the stock and also which one is the cheapest way ?

Are you absolutely sure that you only want to short (sell) large FTSE-100 companies? Are you absolutely sure that they will be falling in price?

The main question is really how long you intend to hold the options? This is going to influence the costs.

I want to design the pair trading strategy for FTSE 100 stocks. So it will not be only short sell.

Now the holding period will vary from 1 day to 30 days. Is CFD a better way for shorting ?
