I am make the transition from floor to screen trading in futures options. What software are you running? Are using COLO or internet based. What FCM is the best for option on screen? Anyone running OptionsCity, Wyntech? Any feed back would be helpful.

It would be helpful to know what products you would like to trade and how active you plan to be. Since you mention OC + Wyntech, I assume you will be trading futures. I have used them both and at the time OC was certainly better ( but more expensive as well). Later on, I saw Wyntech had made some strides maybe there are not that different any more.

I will be trading options on futures CL, GC. the ags and maybe some ICE softs. I will be running Options city metro and I am looking into Spread Networks or a similar connection. I am looking to be more of a market taker than market maker. I realize that I would be target practice for the faster prop shops if I mass quote.

If you do not plan to broadcast quotes, I think all the softwares you mentioned will work fine. Slightly biased towards OC as I am familiar with it the most but you might want to explore cheaper alternatives as much of the flexibility in OC is suited towards large number of users/broadcasting quotes.

Thanks Nikolay. I will be running OC, CME is offering a package to OC users that makes it much more affordable. As you may know OC provides servers COLO near the CME. My question is what is the most cost effective way to connect to the server and still have a good ping speed. I contacted Spread networks but they are too pricey for a small prop shop. Any thoughts?

To be absolutely honest, I am no longer using OC as not trading ags any more. As far as I remember our server was COLO somewhere in the south burbs. I was also on the floor itself, so feedback about speed and reliability is difficult to provide as we were forced to use CME wifi which was a bottleneck on its own. We were using 7ticks at that time. They were quite good.
