Hi, I'm building a trading system in Java. I can receive prices and send order using a FIX connection with my broker. Now I need to integrate in my system an external data feed providing live G7 FX rates, possibly with a free and open source API. What would you suggest me to use? Thanks

Hi Emiliano,

who is your broker? Do they provide an API for quotes?

You could check out:

https://openexchangerates.org/

The have a REST API available.

Thank you Rob!

Unfortunately I can't say much about my present broker,

I'm actually communicating with it using a FIX protocol based connection.

The best thing would be having another broker providing this FX rate feed using a FIX based API, too. But this should require just a free subscribing.

Most data FX data streams are incomplete. I could use IB data for free but I pay for Qcharts data. Once you compare the data you will realize that one is incomplete.
