Simulation Accuracy

We are using Ninja trader as our trading platform and IB for simulation data feed (NASDAQ equities). In many cases trades are done in the simulation at prices that are up to 0.5% different from the real chart. Any ideas/experience how to gap this difference? Also, is there one official chart for NASDAQ stock? What is it? Thanks

I think I know what your issue is, but you are too vague in your information that you provide.

In my opinion the problem is the data and not Ninja. If you describe mor why, how and when you see the issues?

Thanks everyone.

I would also appreciate your take as to the following issue:

How can we make sure that the open price for stocks we receive at 930am from IB is actually the official open price for the day (NASDAQ and NYSE)? When is the earliest we can be sure about the official open price?

You can not. The official opening price is not (necessarily) part of the trades. Unless IB publishes it - and that may happen later than the opening - there is no way.

The open price is calculated during the opening auction : theoretical opening price. Not sure that IB publish it.

When I saw your post a new what your problem was. The Wealth-Lab team has done one year of research and correction of just EOD. There is so much false data in the market it is insane. It is insane what is justified published as clean data and becomes true because everyone takes the easy way.

We are about to release, what we believe is the cleanest data available for a limited number of symbols. I think we know pretty much everything about opening prices. I don't have time to answer in more details since I am traveling. I keep you posted.
